Our Story
UPretty was born from a simple idea: everyone deserves access to professional-quality image creation without needing expensive software or years of design experience. Founded in 2025 by Bandi Hemanth, our platform bridges the gap between imagination and reality.
The story began during a late-night conversation about a frustrating gap our founders kept noticing. Generative AI was producing astonishing imagery in research labs and tech demos, yet the tools available to ordinary users were either prohibitively expensive, demanded a steep learning curve, or buried their best features behind subscriptions priced for enterprise customers. A college student wanting a polished LinkedIn headshot, a small business owner needing fresh marketing visuals, a parent wanting a creative birthday gift — none of them were being served well.
We noticed that while AI image generation was becoming increasingly powerful, the tools available were often complex, expensive, or produced inconsistent results. We set out to build something different — a platform that combines the power of Google's Gemini AI with an intuitive, user-friendly interface that anyone can use. No prompt engineering. No technical setup. No surprise bills.
The first version of UPretty was a weekend prototype with three themes and a single-page upload form. Within weeks, early users were generating thousands of images — but more importantly, they were giving us feedback that shaped the product into what it is today. A free daily quota so students and hobbyists could experiment without worrying about cost. Themes inspired by regional festivals and cultural attire. A 30-day gallery so people could revisit their favourites without paying for cloud storage. Every decision came from listening.
